Funding Secured: New Amenity Wall for Westminster

10 September 2020

While I have been door knocking and phoning residents in Westminster many locals have mentioned the Reid Highway.

I am pleased to announce that we have secured funding for a new amenity wall in between local streets in Westminster and the Reid Highway as part of the WA Recovery Plan!

Thank you to the residents who gave their feedback through my survey about the need for improvements. The response to my petition was amazing and this would not have been possible without the backing of the community.

The most commonly brought up issues were illegal dumping, noise pollution and anti-social behaviour. I took these community concerns directly to the Minister for Transport, Rita Saffioti to make the case for this project and why it is important to the community.

This amenity wall will reduce noise, enhance the amenity and create a better barrier between local streets and the Reid Highway.

The McGowan Government will drive the economic and social recovery of Western Australia through local projects like this. The WA Recovery plan will create a pipeline of local jobs for Western Australians and ensure we recover, stronger than ever.
