Stephenson Avenue Extension - Construction Update

10 June 2020

Local workers will begin construction this year on the Stephenson Avenue Extension after local Osborne Park company, Densford Civil Pty Ltd, were announced to deliver phase one of the project.

I promised $60 million to deliver this intersection at the election, and I'm proud to deliver on my promise. 100 jobs will be created during the project which supports the economy and our local businesses.

The first phase will see Stephenson Avenue extended from Scarborough Beach Road to Sarich Court, including new connections to Ellen Stirling Boulevard at Howe Street and Oswald Street.

Construction on phase one is anticipated to commence in August.

This important infrastructure upgrade will ease traffic congestion and reduce travel times for local families and workers, while also improving the accessibility to the Stirling City Centre that connects people with jobs and services.

Phase two of this project is one of the 24 Western Australian transport projects being fast-tracked to support local jobs during COVID-19. Expressions of interest for the second phase are expected to open in July with construction scheduled to begin early in 2021.
