Osborne Park Hospital Redevelopment Update

Osborne Park Hospital Redevelopment Update Main Image

04 August 2020

I am proud to say we are progressing with my election commitment to expand and redevelop Osborne Park Hospital, with construction well underway since commencing in March 2020.

The McGowan Labor Government committed to providing better public health care for Balcatta residents by upgrading the neonatal and midwifery services and expanding the rehabilitation services at the Hospital.

The $24.9 million expansion will establish a new 6-cot Level 2A neonatal nursery, relocate and upgrade the Maternity Assessment Unit, construct a new 16-bed rehabilitation ward, and develop a new integrated Therapy Hub in T Block.

Construction commenced on 3 March 2020, and is progressing well with the new external walkway, oxygen tank compound and T Block demolition already completed. Construction for the new Maternity Assessment Unit, 16- bed Rehabilitation Ward and integrated Therapy Hub are underway and on schedule.

Australian family-owned company, ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd are undertaking the works and building the new facilities which are delivering jobs for local workers.

This important project will enable local mothers with low to moderate risk pregnancies to give birth closer to where they live and the new 16 bed rehabilitation unit will provide inpatient and outpatient services to thousands of people in our northern suburbs.

The project is expected to be completed in 2021. I look forward to this being the first of more upgrades to come, giving local residents better healthcare, closer to where they live.
