Funding Announced to Upgrade Main, Hutton & Royal Street Intersection

Funding Announced to Upgrade Main, Hutton & Royal Street Intersection Main Image

23 August 2020

Today it was announced that we have secured funding for an upgrade of the intersection at Main Street and Hutton/Royal Streets.

Without the support and backing of the community, this would not have been possible. The response to my petition was amazing.
The most commonly brought up issues were safety, a right-hand turn arrow from Royal Street on to Main Street, and improved pedestrian crossings.

I care about our community and I want to make it an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. I took Minister for Transport, Rita Saffioti to Caffe Amaretto on the corner of this intersection to go through with her the community’s concerns and why this intersection needs an upgrade.

Making this intersection safer and more pedestrian-friendly will encourage foot traffic helping local businesses in the Main Street shopping precinct. This builds on our work with the upgrades to Robinson Reserve transforming the area into a community hub.
