Local MPs David Michael and Simon Millman are calling on ANZ to reverse their decision to close the local Branch at Flinders Square Shopping Centre.

They are encouraging the local community to sign their petition against the branch closure.  

"This decision follows a worrying trend of banks closing branches and providing less customer service," Mr Millman said 

"Local branches provide a vital service to members of the community who are unable to access online banking," he added. 

"It is disappointing for vulnerable customers who are not able to attend a different branch," Mr Michael said.

"Banks should be doing their best to serve their customers, particularly during this difficult time, instead of focusing on cutting costs and pulling jobs from our area," he added.

If the closure proceeds, local residents will have to travel to Mount Lawley or the Osborne Park Industrial Area. 

"For many local customers extending travel will not be an option. We urge ANZ to reconsider," Mr Millman said.
